Gene Therapy: The Brave New World, Is It Now?
In the discussion of Gene Therapy: The Brave New World, Is It Now?, We will
examine the goals and expectations of gene therapy research. In addition to
an overview on the most promising approaches we will discuss why there have
been more failures than successes in this field and the timeline for
breakthroughs. An integral part of this discussion will focus on the ethics
of gene therapy from the viewpoint of: the researcher, the FDA and
NIH, the
medical community and most importantly the patient.
