Building a diagnostics market: One molecule at a time
Dr. Eileen
Gorman is a recognized expert in technology development from inception
to commercialization. She has held leadership positions at the
business/technical interface, in research and development, and
technical marketing organization in medical products.
Dr. Gorman has served as technical consultant to the legal
department for management of intellectual property assets,
developed and implemented business strategies. She also provided
program evaluation, benchmarking, oversight and management of
product development collaborations with academic and
industrial partners. Under her lead, 5 products have been
commercialized. She possesses unique expertise and familiarity
with both the business and the technical side of business
development in industrial and academic settings.
For over 15 years, she was a member of the former DuPont
Diagnostics, now Siemens. She holds a
Ph.D. in chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry, and
was a Staff Fellow at NIH. She has authored over 50
papers, chapters, abstracts, corporate reports, and patents.
